Key Responsibilities
You will be the expert on the ground, ensuring the concrete used on our projects meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Travel daily across Southeast Queensland to construction sites to collect concrete samples and perform on-site field tests in accordance with AS 1012 and TMR specifications.
- Conduct laboratory testing, including preparing specimens and performing compression strength tests on hardened concrete using calibrated equipment.
- Accurately record, analyse, and report all test results through the Geotester system, ensuring compliance with NATA and ISO-IEC 17025 standards.
- Maintain all testing equipment to strict calibration and maintenance schedules.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and project teams, and uphold the highest standards of health and safety, including manual handling of materials.
Qualifications
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with practical experience and a strong technical foundation.
- A Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques, Materials Testing, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in concrete field and laboratory testing.
- Practical familiarity with Australian Standards (AS 1012), TMR specifications, and NATA requirements.
- Experience using Geotester or similar materials testing reporting software.
- Physically fit with the ability to safely handle and transport heavy samples (e.g., lifting up to 15 litres of concrete).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in reporting, and strong communication skills.
