Key Responsibilities
In this creative and varied role within our purpose-built kitchen, you will be essential to delivering an exceptional culinary experience. Your key duties will include:
- Preparing and presenting a range of high-quality coastal Mediterranean dishes, with a special focus on crafting authentic pizzas using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Assisting in all aspects of kitchen operations, from prep and cooking for our restaurant, kiosk, and catering events to maintaining stock and inventory.
- Upholding the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation.
- Collaborating with the Head Chef on menu development, ingredient sourcing, and quality control.
- Contributing to a positive, efficient, and collaborative team culture in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Working flexibly across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, including weekends and public holidays, especially during peak seasons.
Qualifications
To thrive in this launch-phase role, you will need:
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) and proven experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie in a quality culinary environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Italian and Mediterranean cuisines, with strong pizza-making skills.
- A passion for fresh, local produce and the ability to manage ordering and quality checks.
- Excellent communication skills, a positive, adaptable attitude, and a genuine team-player mindset.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster across all meal periods, including peak summer and holiday seasons.
- The legal right to work in Australia.
Experience in a restaurant opening is highly regarded.
