Key Responsibilities

As a Food Service Worker, your day is varied and hands-on. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing fresh ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning fruits and vegetables.
  • Following approved recipes to prepare and present meals, ensuring consistent quality, proper serving temperatures, and standard portion sizes.
  • Providing friendly, efficient customer service at all points of sale, including cashiering and line serving, and resolving any customer concerns promptly.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment by performing general cleaning duties, removing trash, and properly storing all food and supplies.
  • Adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and rotation procedures, including proper wrapping, dating, and storage of all products.
  • Safely transporting food items, utensils, and equipment to and from kitchen workstations, stoves, refrigerators, and service areas.
  • Setting up service areas and restocking supplies to ensure we are ready to welcome customers.

Qualifications

We’re looking for reliable team players who are ready to contribute. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Required: Valid FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
  • Required: Previous experience in food preparation and customer food service.
  • A strong commitment to safety, sanitation, and following detailed procedures.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to thrive in a busy environment.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills to understand instructions and interact with the team and customers.
  • The physical ability to perform all duties of the role, including standing for extended periods, carrying items, and moving equipment.
  • Experience with cash registers and previous work in healthcare, hotel, restaurant, or fast-food settings are valuable assets.
