Key Responsibilities
As a Civil and Response Team Member, your work will be diverse and essential to our community’s daily life. Your key duties will include:
- Operating a variety of plant and equipment, including backhoes, excavators, loaders, leaf blowers, and chainsaws for maintenance and response tasks.
- Performing civil construction and maintenance activities such as paving repairs, concrete works (kerb and water table), road repairs, and drainage maintenance.
- Responding promptly to customer requests and emergency call-outs, proactively resolving issues within our reactive service environment.
- Undertaking street and drainage cleaning, graffiti removal, street sweeping, and the replacement of street signs and traffic devices.
- Contributing to a safe worksite by adhering to all traffic management and work zone safety protocols.
Qualifications
To excel in this varied role, you will need a solid foundation of practical skills and credentials. You should have:
- Essential Experience:Â Proven hands-on experience operating the listed plant and equipment and performing civil maintenance tasks.
-  A current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver’s Licence, Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM) Accreditation, and any relevant trade qualifications.
- Essential Attributes:Â A strong customer service focus with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, reactive environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and a reliable, team-oriented approach are crucial.
- Desirable Skills:Â Experience in line marking is advantageous but not essential.
- Pre-employment Checks:Â The ability to obtain a Department of Human Services Screening and provide all required documentation during the recruitment process.
