Key Responsibilities
As the face of Canada Post in your local post office, your day will be varied and community-focused. You will:
- Provide friendly, efficient service at the counter, helping customers with postal products, shipping, and retail transactions.
- Process and sort incoming and outgoing mail accurately, ensuring it reaches the correct destination.
- Offer clear information and assistance to customers, helping them navigate our services and forms.
- Help resolve any delivery or service questions, taking ownership to find a solution that leaves the customer satisfied.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.
- Handle financial transactions with care and accuracy, in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications
We are looking for a community-minded individual with the following:
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalency is required.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, such as retail or service, is a strong asset.
- A natural ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with people from all walks of life.
- Basic comfort with sales, cash handling, and learning accounting systems.
- The physical ability to safely lift items up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform sorting duties.
- Essential flexibility for on-call work, with the ability to accept shifts as needed.
- As this role serves the local community, applicants residing in or near 70 Mile House are preferred.
