Key Responsibilities
You will be the go-to technician ensuring our clients’ operations run smoothly. Your role will be a mix of workshop and on-site work, including:
- Servicing, fault-finding, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of packaging systems, labelling equipment, and weighing scales.
- Travelling to customer sites across the region (from Kaikoura to Timaru) to perform equipment setup, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and urgent breakdown repairs.
- Working effectively within a supportive, close-knit team while also managing your own schedule and customer interactions independently.
- Providing exceptional customer service, communicating clearly about technical issues and solutions.
- Maintaining accurate records and utilizing your problem-solving skills to deliver reliable, efficient service.
Qualifications
We are looking for a practical, customer-focused professional with a solid technical foundation. You will need:
- At least 2+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and fixing electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical faults.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as this is a highly customer-focused role.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, good numeric skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence and the ability to comfortably handle regular physical lifting.
- An intermediate level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office.
- While experience with labelling/packaging equipment or scales is beneficial, a keen willingness to learn is most important full training is provided.
