Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of our Leisure and Lifestyle team, you will be key to promoting residents’ quality of life. Your core duties will include:
- Planning, developing, and facilitating a diverse range of fun, engaging, and meaningful recreational activities and programs for residents.
- Focusing on promoting each resident’s emotional, spiritual, and psychological wellbeing, and fostering their sense of dignity, purpose, and connection to the community.
- Working with older persons, including those living with dementia or cognitive impairment, to ensure activities are inclusive and tailored to individual needs and interests.
- Collaborating effectively within the interdisciplinary care team and contributing ideas for continuous improvement of the lifestyle program.
- Maintaining excellent communication with residents, families, and colleagues, and completing necessary activity documentation.
Qualifications
We are looking for a caring individual with the right qualifications and approach. You will need:
- A minimum of a Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or a similar qualification, or be actively working towards one.
- A genuine passion for working with older people and a demonstrated ability to deliver activities that enhance their lives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and a Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- A proactive learning attitude and the ability to obtain a Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and provide an Immunisation History.
- A bus licence and experience in dementia care are preferred but not essential.
