Key Responsibilities

As an NEMT Driver, you will be a trusted professional responsible for patient safety and comfort. Your essential duties will include:

  • Safely operating a wheelchair-accessible van or gurney van, including using the lift mechanism and securely strapping patients and equipment for transport.
  • Providing excellent customer service, maintaining professional and courteous communication with patients, their families, healthcare staff, and dispatchers.
  • Accurately documenting all patient information and trip details on required forms before completing your shift.
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge of Riverside County routes and traffic patterns to ensure timely arrivals.
  • Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, restocking supplies, and keeping the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
  • Adhering to all safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulations to ensure a secure environment for patients and yourself.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • A current State Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record (Required).
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification (BLS Certification is a strong plus).
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with experience in patient interaction and phone communication.
  • The physical ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift according to established weight requirements, which may include assisting patients in wheelchairs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including start times as early as 3:00 AM, and availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required, and a BLS Certification is preferred.
