 Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be a trusted aide ensuring the safety and comfort of our friars. Your primary duties will include:
- Safely operating the community’s vehicles to transport elderly friars to and from medical appointments, places of worship, errands, and other local destinations.
- Providing patient, courteous, and respectful assistance to friars as they enter and exit the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and security throughout the journey.
- Maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate necessary appointments, with occasional trips into New York City as required.
- Performing basic pre- and post-trip vehicle checks, reporting any maintenance needs, and keeping the vehicle clean and presentable.
- Adhering to all traffic laws and practicing safe, defensive driving techniques at all times.
Qualifications
This position requires specific credentials and a professional, caring attitude. The successful candidate must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalency (GED).
- A minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience.
- A current, valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- A completed Defensive Driving Course certificate.
- Good knowledge of the local geographical area, including Westchester County and routes into New York City.
- A patient, respectful, and trustworthy demeanor when working with the elderly.
- The ability to work a consistent day shift, Monday through Friday.
