Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for two key functions that keep the campus running smoothly:
Truck Driving and Waste Collection Duties (Approx. 20 hours-week):
- Safely operate a campus truck along established routes to collect trash and recycling from various buildings.
- Load, transport, and unload waste and recyclable materials in compliance with all safety and campus guidelines.
- Perform basic pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, campus regulations, and safe driving practices.
Custodial and Cleaning Duties (Remaining scheduled hours):
- Perform routine cleaning of three assigned campus buildings, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, and empty all trash and recycling receptacles.
- Use all cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies safely and effectively.
- Maintain assigned areas to the high cleanliness and sanitation standards expected by UG2 and the campus.
Qualifications
We are looking for a dependable candidate who meets the following criteria:
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- The physical ability to perform the essential duties, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety, customer service, and performing all tasks to a high standard.
- Previous experience in custodial work, driving, or a similar combined role is beneficial but not mandatory if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn.
