Carpenter Foreman Wanted In Singapore

We are looking for a Carpenter Foreman with at least three years of supervisory experience to join our construction site team in Singapore. You will manage a crew of carpenters, deliver tools and equipment to work areas, and ensure every form, frame, and finish meets our quality and safety standards. This is not a working carpenter role though your experience in the trade is essential. Your primary responsibility is leadership: arranging work, monitoring performance, enforcing safety, and keeping the schedule on track. If you know how to read drawings, communicate with site management, and get the best out of your workers, this role offers competitive compensation and the authority to run your scope.

Company Overview

We are an established main contractor or structural works specialist serving Singapore’s construction industry. Our projects include residential, commercial, and industrial buildings where concrete structure, architectural finishes, and timber works are central to the delivery.

We do not believe in foremen who simply pass down instructions. We need leaders who understand that managing workers is about clarity, respect, and follow-through. Your crew needs to know what good looks like, what the schedule demands, and that safety is not optional. We are looking for a foreman who has been in the trades long enough to know how work should be done and has the communication skills to make sure it happens that way—every day, on every task. If that describes you, we have a stable pipeline of projects and a team that will support your authority.

Site Supervision and Workforce Management

  • Supervise and manage all day-to-day activities of carpentry workers on site, ensuring alignment with project schedule, quality standards, and safety objectives.
  • Assign daily tasks to carpenters and general workers based on work priorities, skill levels, and site conditions.
  • Monitor workmanship continuously, verifying that formwork alignment, framing accuracy, finishes, and installations meet approved drawings and quality procedures.
  • Conduct regular site walks to inspect progress, identify deficiencies, and provide immediate corrective guidance to workers.
  • Manage worker attendance, productivity, and discipline, reporting any performance issues to site management.

Logistics and Resource Coordination

  • Provide and deliver necessary tools, equipment, and materials to various work sites within the project, ensuring crews are never waiting on resources.
  • Coordinate with site storekeepers and material planners to maintain adequate stock of timber, plywood, hardware, and consumables.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe, serviceable condition; report damage or shortages promptly.

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce all site safety requirements, including proper use of PPE, safe work procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings to communicate safety hazards, work plans, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure carpentry activities comply with relevant Singapore building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions or practices are observed, and escalate unresolved issues to the safety officer or project manager.

Coordination and Communication

  • Interact effectively with project managers, engineers, safety officers, and other trade foremen to resolve interface issues and maintain workflow.
  • Attend site coordination meetings as required, providing updates on carpentry progress, constraints, and resource requirements.
