We are looking for a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Vancouver-based construction team. In this role, you will operate excavators, loaders, and bobcats while assisting landscapers and hardscape workers on various projects, including parks, commercial buildings, and new construction sites. You will ensure safe operation around underground utilities, perform routine equipment maintenance, and support the team in meeting project deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, loaders, and bobcats safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Assist landscapers and hardscape workers with project setup and execution.
- Work carefully around underground utilities, parks, and public areas.
- Perform BC1 calls as required.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe, organized, and productive worksite.
- Follow all company safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid operating tickets for at least two types of machinery (e.g., skid steer, loader, or excavator).
- Valid driver’s license with reliable access to a vehicle.
- Proficiency in machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of labor work, grading, and spotting techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Experience in plant layout and construction is an advantage.
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
