Our workshop team is supportive, experienced, and focused on doing the job properly. What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose Faults in Rotating Equipment: You’ll be the person figuring out what’s wrong with pumps, motors, and gearboxes—using your mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
- Strip, Inspect, Repair, and Reassemble:Â Get hands-on with equipment, stripping it down, inspecting components, carrying out repairs, and rebuilding to factory standards.
- Replace Bearings, Seals, Shafts, and Components:Â You’ll handle the common wear items that keep equipment running smoothly.
- Carry Out Preventative Maintenance and Servicing:Â Not all work is reactive. You’ll also perform routine servicing to prevent breakdowns before they happen.
- Perform Alignment and Precision Measurement:Â Use precision tools to ensure components are correctly aligned and measured.
- Test Equipment:Â After repairs, you’ll test equipment to confirm it’s performing reliably and ready to go back to the customer.
- Maintain Accurate Job Records:Â Keep clear records of work performed, parts used, and test results.
- Contribute Positively to the Team:Â We work together, support each other, and take pride in what we achieve.
About You
We’re looking for someone with solid mechanical experience, ideally across one or more of the following:
- Pumps
- Gearboxes
- Electric motors
- General industrial rotating equipment
You will also bring:
- Minimum 2+ Years’ Relevant Mechanical Experience:Â You’ve spent at least two years in an industrial or workshop environment, working with mechanical equipment.
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude:Â You understand how things work and have a natural feel for mechanical systems.
- Attention to Detail:Â You notice the small things that others might miss and you know they matter.
- Confidence Using Hand and Power Tools:Â You’re comfortable with the tools of the trade and use them safely.
- Ability to Read Drawings and Manuals:Â You can interpret technical documentation to guide your work.
- Practical, Solution-Focused Mindset:Â When problems arise, you focus on finding solutions.
- Reliability and Pride in Workmanship:Â You take ownership of your work and want it to be right.
Note:Â Formal pump-specific experience isn’t essential if you have broader mechanical exposure across motors, gearboxes, or similar equipment. If you’ve got the mechanical aptitude and experience, we’re interested.
What We Offer
- Full-Time, Stable Workshop Role:Â Guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week.
- Competitive Pay: $30 – $38 per hour, depending on experience.
- Tool Allowance:Â Paid per hour worked to help with your tools.

Why Join Wallace Murray Electrical
- Varied, Interesting Work:Â No two days are the same. You’ll work on different equipment, different faults, and different challenges.
- Workshop-Based, Not on the Road:Â If you prefer being in the workshop rather than driving between sites, this role offers that stability.
