Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Engineering Co-ordination Engineer, the appointee will perform the following responsibilities:
- Testing Equipment:Â Assist in testing isolators, switchgears, transformers, equipment, and instruments to ensure proper function and safety.
- Supervising Tradesmen and Contractors:Â Assist in supervising workers and contractors during the refurbishment of isolators, switchgears, and transformers.
- Checking Company Vehicles:Â Assist in inspecting the condition of company vehicles to ensure they’re roadworthy and safe.
- Daily Workshop Documentation:Â Input and maintain daily workshop documentation and records.
- Other Duties:Â Handle any other relevant responsibilities or functions of the workshop as assigned.
Requirements
- Education:Â Higher Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience:Â A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
- Training:Â Completion of recognized technician / apprenticeship training in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge:Â Good knowledge of power systems.
- Vehicle Knowledge:Â Basic knowledge of vehicles and computer skills.
- Safety Certification:Â Holder of a valid certificate of mandatory basic safety training, i.e. Green Card.
- Driving Licence:Â Holder of a valid driving licence for Class 1 vehicles.
- Electrical Worker Registration:Â Holder of Registered Electrical Worker (A0) is an advantage.
- Soft Skills:Â Good communication and interpersonal skills.
