Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in every delivery.
- Store products and materials in designated areas according to their type, size, and shelf life.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse space, ensuring all areas are free from hazards.
- Use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to transport goods within the warehouse safely.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements in and out of the warehouse.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Report inventory discrepancies or stock shortages to the supervisor promptly.
- Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment based on customer orders with attention to detail.
- Ensure items are packaged securely to prevent damage during transport.
- Assist with the preparation of shipping documentation, such as bills of lading and labels.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure all materials and equipment are stored safely and comply with OSHA or other relevant safety regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in warehouse or material handling roles is preferred.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., Reach Truck, pallet jacks) with Forklift license a plus.
- Basic math skills for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
