Key Responsibilities
- Set up, assemble, and dismantle formwork systems according to engineering drawings and project specifications for civil and commercial structures.
- Interpret construction plans and blueprints to ensure formwork is positioned accurately and securely for concrete pours.
- Use various tools and equipment including saws, drills, levels, and measuring devices to achieve precise formwork installation.
- Work collaboratively with site supervisors, concreters, and other trades to coordinate activities and maintain project schedules.
- Ensure all formwork systems are constructed to meet safety standards and are capable of supporting the loads required during concrete placement.
- Conduct inspections of formwork before and after concrete pours to verify structural integrity and alignment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all site safety protocols including the correct use of personal protective equipment and participation in safety briefings.
Qualifications
A Construction White Card is mandatory for this role. Candidates must have proven experience in formwork within a civil or commercial construction environment with a strong understanding of formwork systems, materials, and installation techniques. Knowledge and proficiency in the use of various hand and power tools are essential. Strong attention to detail is required to ensure precision in formwork placement. Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors. Candidates must have their own transport or a reliable way to get to work.
