Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage the smart plant material system following company material management procedures to ensure accurate tracking of all project materials.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with contractors to review material delivery schedules and maintain an updated material shortage list for timely project communication.
  • Meet weekly with project teams and expeditors to review material status, maintain material tracking lists with ROS dates, arrival dates, and MRR documentation, and advise on items requiring expediting based on a four week lookahead plan.
  • Develop BOM and DCN documents with margin for purchasing for pipe fittings, gaskets, electrical cables, and other materials based on project stage, submitting for review and approval before sending to procurement.
  • Plan laydown areas and supervise unloading, unpacking, and storage of delivered materials ensuring all handling follows Job Safety Analysis and lifting procedure specifications.
  • Inspect materials for damage before offloading or taking receipt, completing damage reports and following up with corporate logistics when issues are identified.
  • Collect material certificates in hard copy from shipments or print electronic copies from the open text system to maintain complete documentation.
  • Conduct material inspections with contractors and site construction engineers verifying quantity, specification, quality, and tag numbers, and arranging PMI tests for Monel and alloy steel as required.
  • Issue materials to contractors based on approved documentation including per drawing, per tag number, and per PID page and CWP work area.
  • Ensure all sensitive materials including transmitters, instruments, gauges, oxygen cleaned valves, and equipment are properly stored and protected with space heaters connected for temporary power as defined by specifications.
  • Verify and maintain preservation requirements for each piece of equipment including nitrogen purge, vapor impregnated paper, coating, grease, and motor space heater connections during storage.
  • Record pressure readings for equipment from delivery through installation including purifiers, vessels, surge drums, LIN tanks, main heat exchangers, coolers, vaporizers, and rotors.
  • Manage spare parts storage with photo documentation of status and duration for items such as rotors, gears, bearings, and motors.
  • Lead the site warehouse team and prepare material management weekly reports for team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction material management within industrial, oil and gas, or large scale project environments is required. Strong understanding of material tracking systems, BOM development, and procurement processes is essential. Candidates must have experience with material inspection, preservation requirements, and handling of sensitive equipment. Knowledge of PMI testing requirements for alloys and experience with NCN and OSD reporting is required. Familiarity with safety protocols including Job Safety Analysis and lifting procedures is essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are critical. Proficiency with material management software and documentation systems is required. Leadership experience with warehouse teams is preferred.
