Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper and safe condition of all plant, plant rooms, equipment, and work areas, ensuring all systems operate reliably.
  • Comply with all Fire, Life, Health, Safety, Security and Environment standards, upholding the highest levels of safety.
  • Be conversant with hotel emergency procedures and perform Emergency Response Team duties as required.
  • Interact with guests, patrons, and colleagues in a courteous, professional, and service oriented manner.
  • Carry out work in accordance with the hotel’s planned maintenance programme, ensuring all tasks are completed to standard.
  • Keep all log books and records up to date, maintaining accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Assist engineering personnel with technical advice and help maintain consistent standards across the department.
  • Set up audio and video equipment for functions, ensuring all technology is ready for events.
  • Actively assist with energy conservation and control initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals.
  • Liaise with other departments and contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance work.
  • Arrange repair work for outstanding work orders concerning guest rooms, public areas, and back of house spaces.
  • Monitor the performance and efficiency of all building services sections.
  • Arrange for repair of electronic, microprocessor, and computer controlled equipment.
  • Suggest alterations or improvements for system operations to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

A minimum higher certificate holder in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or other related disciplines is required. A Grade A electrical worker license is an advantage, as is a Fire Tube Boiler License with knowledge of engineering plants and boilers. Candidates should have at least two years of relevant work experience, along with basic computer skills. Good spoken and written Chinese or Cantonese and basic English are essential. The ability to work independently and under pressure is important, as is a commitment to safety, quality, and service excellence.
