Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently, handling mixed freight with care and precision.
- Conduct thorough freight audits, matching consignments against documentation to verify weights, cubics, and other specifications.
- Sort freight accurately by checking labels, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring items are directed to the correct destinations.
- Operate forklift equipment safely and confidently within a busy transport environment, adhering to all operational protocols.
- Perform manual handling tasks with the ability to lift up to 25 kilograms as required.
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring all activities comply with workplace standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to manage workflow effectively, using problem solving skills to address any issues that arise.
Qualifications
Proven experience in forklift freight loading and freight auditing is essential for this role. Candidates must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast paced setting. Excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail are required to identify discrepancies and anomalies in freight documentation. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are important for coordinating with team members and ensuring smooth operations. A current forklift license is required, and applicants must be living in New Zealand with residency or a valid NZ work visa. The ability to work early morning shifts starting at either 4.00am or 5.00am Monday through Friday is essential.
