Key Responsibilities

You will be the key link in our overnight supply chain. Your core responsibilities will ensure a smooth and safe operation:

• Safely operate a Class 5 truck on the Christchurch-Nelson return route, transporting chilled and dry food products.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and complete all necessary run sheets and documentation accurately.
• Professionally load and unload freight using truck-mounted equipment and a forklift, ensuring cargo integrity.
• Manage your driving hours and logbook in full compliance with NZTA regulations.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and the wider team regarding any delays or issues.
• Maintain a high standard of vehicle care and cleanliness, both inside the cab and for the external unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for a safety-conscious professional with a strong sense of responsibility. The essentials for this role are:

• A current, clean New Zealand Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
• A minimum of 5 years of solid driving experience on New Zealand roads.
• A reliable, committed, and self-sufficient work ethic you own the run and see it through.

• A current forklift licence or a strong willingness to obtain one quickly.
• Experience with a RoadRanger gearbox is advantageous, but full training can be provided for the right candidate with a great attitude.
