Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face of our store, rotating across key departments to keep operations smooth. Your core duties will include:
- Providing friendly, efficient, and professional customer service at the checkout, assisting shoppers and handling transactions.
- Working in our grocery department, ensuring shelves are fully stocked, faced, and clean, and assisting customers with product locations.
- Accurately picking and packing customer orders for our Uber Eats service, paying close attention to detail and freshness.
- Maintaining high standards of store presentation, which involves regular tasks like lifting, bending, stocking, and using ladders.
- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure a great overall shopping experience for every customer.
Qualifications
We’re looking for team players who bring energy and reliability. Here’s what we need from you:
You Must Have:
- The legal right to live and work in New Zealand (we are not accredited to sponsor overseas applicants).
- Reliable, independent transport to and from work.
- Excellent verbal English skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
- Good computer literacy and a keen eye for detail.
- The physical capability and fitness for active work involving standing, walking, lifting, and ladder use throughout your shift.
- Full-time availability (minimum 30 hours per week) across a rotating roster between 7:00 am and 11:30 pm, including one weekend day.
Experience That Will Help You Shine:
- Previous experience in a supermarket or retail environment.
- Experience with online order picking or a similar task-oriented role.
- Knowledge or experience in fresh food handling is a bonus, but a willingness to learn is essential
