What You’ll Be Doing

As a Volunteer Driver, you are more than just a ride; you are a consistent, caring adult in a child’s life. Your primary responsibilities will be:

• Safely transporting children, youth, and occasionally parents to crucial appointments such as therapy sessions, medical visits, family time, court dates, and support group meetings.
• Planning the most direct and cost-effective routes for each trip.
• Maintaining a professional, patient, and compassionate manner as a representative of Halton CAS.
• Completing and submitting accurate expense sheets for mileage reimbursement.
• Communicating clearly with the Drive Coordinator and advising of any schedule changes or issues that arise during drives.
• Using provided car seats correctly when required for younger children.

Volunteer Requirements 

We are looking for reliable, caring individuals who can meet the following criteria:

• Possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving abstract, and a vehicle in good condition with a minimum of $2,000,000 insurance liability.
• Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof.
• Successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) and a CPIN Record Check.
• Be patient, have a good sense of humor, and a genuinely caring personality.
• Be over the age of majority in Ontario.
