We are seeking a safety-conscious and experienced Fixed Shear Operator to join our industrial plant operations team. Key Responsibilities
Your role is essential to the safe and efficient processing of materials within our plant. Your core duties will include:
- Safely and efficiently operating fixed shear equipment with a stationary grab to cut and process steel scrap according to production schedules.
- Strictly committing to all plant safety procedures, including the proper application of permit-to-work systems and risk assessments before any task.
- Performing routine maintenance activities and supporting plant operations to minimize equipment downtime.
- Assisting in the maintenance and minor servicing of mobile plant machinery such as Liebherr and Caterpillar grapples.
- Upholding excellent 5S housekeeping standards, ensuring the plant area, control room, and all tools-equipment are clean, organized, and in full working order.
- Proactively identifying and reporting potential safety hazards or equipment issues to achieve incident-free operations.
- Providing an immediate and effective response to any incidents or plant emergencies.
- Completing any additional tasks assigned by the Engineer or Plant Manager.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with direct, hands-on experience in an industrial setting. The requirements are:
- Experience in operating machinery within an Industrial Plant or as a Static Machinery Operator is mandatory.
- Specific experience operating Metal Stamping or Shearing machines is a strong advantage.
- Must be disciplined in performing pre-operation checks on machinery before every shift.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and production schedules accurately.
- A proven commitment to observing and following all Company Safety rules and Regulations.
- Willingness to work overtime and a rotating shift schedule as required.
- Physically fit to work in an industrial environment.
Working Hours: 6-day workweek (Monday to Saturday) with rotating shifts.
