Your Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you will perform a variety of essential tasks to uphold the cleanliness and order of our facilities. Your core duties will include:

  • Sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors in hallways, classrooms, and stairways.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, ensuring they are fully stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Washing windows, doors, and mirrors, and dusting furniture, woodwork, and blinds.
  • Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables from throughout the campus.
  • Operating and maintaining standard custodial equipment such as buffers and vacuums.
  • Observing and reporting any maintenance needs or potential safety hazards to your supervisor.
  • Maintaining positive and respectful working relationships with all faculty, staff, students, and coworkers.
  • Performing seasonal tasks such as shoveling snow from walkways and assisting with special event setups.

What You Bring to Our Team

We are looking for reliable individuals who take pride in their work. The ideal candidate will possess:

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of experience in building cleaning or custodial work.
  • The ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions in English.
  • The physical capability to perform essential duties, including standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • A respectful, cooperative attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • One or more years of professional custodial experience.
  • Familiarity with the safe and efficient use of various cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintaining a clean environment.
