Key Responsibilities

As a Washer, you will be essential in maintaining the strict hygiene standards required in a hospital setting. Your core duties will include:

• Safely collecting, receiving, and segregating all soiled linens, patient garments, and other hospital laundry according to infection control protocols.
• Operating industrial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment correctly and efficiently to process laundry loads.
• Washing, disinfecting, and drying items using approved detergents and methods tailored to the type of fabric and level of contamination.
• Meticulously inspecting all cleaned items for stains, damage, and overall quality before they are returned to circulation.
• Neatly folding, ironing, and storing linens and uniforms in designated areas as per established hospital standards.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laundry area, and promptly reporting any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to your supervisor.
• Accurately keeping daily records of laundry processed and stock levels.

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable and physically capable candidate with the following attributes:

• A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience is required. Training will be provided on specific hospital protocols.
•  A basic understanding of infection control principles and the safe handling of contaminated materials is essential.
•  Must be physically fit to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive lifting and bending tasks.
•  High attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions precisely, and a strong commitment to maintaining excellent personal and workplace hygiene.
• A disciplined, responsible approach to work and a commitment to supporting the hospital’s environmental sustainability goals.
