Key Responsibilities

As an Employment and Assistance Worker, you will be on the front lines of service delivery. Your core duties will involve:

  • Connecting with clients who may be in crisis, gathering necessary information with sensitivity to accurately assess their eligibility for supports and services.
  • Organizing a demanding workload, setting priorities, and meeting performance targets in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively communicating impactful decisions, maintaining composure and clarity during difficult conversations.
  • Providing services through various channels, including in-person at community offices, or via phone and virtual platforms.
  • Applying a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policy to ensure fair and accurate support delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • One or more years of experience delivering high-standard client service in a busy, fast-paced environment (in-person, virtual, or by phone).
  • One or more years of experience working with computer applications like MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience providing services to clients facing challenges such as poverty, substance use, or mental health issues.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Experience in community-based or social service roles, such as shelter work, outreach, or harm reduction, primarily supporting vulnerable populations.
