Your Role on the Farm
In this vital hands-on role, you will be responsible for the daily care and wellbeing of our poultry flocks. Your key duties will include:
- Providing compassionate daily care and handling of our birds, ensuring their health and welfare is a top priority.
- Collecting eggs efficiently and carefully for delivery to our Hatchery.
- Operating feeding systems and performing routine maintenance to ensure flocks have constant access to feed and water.
- Maintaining excellent shed hygiene through regular cleaning and sanitisation to ensure a safe environment.
- Assisting with shed preparations for new flock arrivals, including setting up equipment and bedding.
- Completing a range of general farm duties to support the smooth and efficient running of our operations.
What We’re Looking For
We value attitude and integrity as much as experience. The ideal candidate will bring:
- A positive, can-do attitude and a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to ethical husbandry practices.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster that includes regular weekend shifts.
- Physical fitness for active work in a farm environment.
- Important Biosecurity Requirement: You must not keep birds or poultry at your home residence.
- Legal rights to work in New Zealand and live within a 30-minute commute of our Putaruru site.
No prior farm experience is requiredn we provide full, on-the-job training for the right person.
