As a Borer Lifter Operator within our Operations Division, you will play a crucial hands-on role in network construction and maintenance. Your work will involve operating a variety of plant equipment, from lifters and borers to cranes and trucks, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of essential infrastructure projects. No two days will be the same in this active, field-based role.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will be a vital part of our field operations team, responsible for a diverse range of duties including:
- Safely and competently operating specialised equipment such as lifter-borers, flatbed trucks, forklifts, and cranes to support network activities.
- Assisting tradespersons with the construction, maintenance, and inspection of the electrical network across Queensland.
- Performing general trades assistance, site establishment, and preparation.
- Transporting and collecting materials and equipment from various job sites.
- Acting as a safety observer, proactively identifying risks and implementing control measures.
- Participating in an on-call roster for emergency and overtime work as required.
- Travelling to surrounding areas to undertake work as needed.
The Essential Skills And Licences You Bring
To be successful in this safety-critical role, you must possess a strong operational background and the right tickets:
- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence.
- Current High Risk Work Licences for forklift, dogman, rigger, and slewing crane (VLC). C6 Crane experience is highly preferred.
- Experience operating crash box HR vehicles.
- Proven experience as a Borer Lifter Operator within the utilities, construction, or a similar heavy industry.
- A current manual ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
- A demonstrated, unwavering commitment to safety procedures and risk management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction.
- The ability to work at heights and a willingness to travel for work.
