Key Responsibilities

You will be cross-trained to provide seamless support both clinically and administratively, ensuring our practice runs smoothly.

As a Dental Surgery Assistant, you will:

  • Provide expert chairside assistance to the dentist, anticipating needs and ensuring procedures run efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols, including sterilisation and surgery cleaning.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, manage dental supplies, and ensure all equipment is ready and functional.
  • Accurately complete patient charting and records as directed.

As a Dental Receptionist (when rostered), you will:

  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and efficient front desk service for all patients and visitors.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, patient recalls, and handle telephone inquiries with care.
  • Process payments, manage accounts, and handle general office administration.
  • Ensure the reception and waiting areas are impeccably presented.

Who You Are: Our Ideal Candidate

  •  This role requires consistent, in-person attendance from Monday-Thursday (8am-5:15pm) with flexibility for Fridays-Saturdays as agreed.
  •  You ask questions when unsure and have the courage to immediately report any mistakes or uncertainties, understanding this is critical for patient safety and team trust.
  • You follow procedures meticulously and take ownership of your actions.

  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant or Receptionist is advantageous. A relevant certificate (e.g., NZDA) is a plus but not mandatory full training will be provided to a candidate with the right attitude.
  • Professional: You maintain a neat, clinical appearance and hold a current driver’s licence.
