Key Responsibilities
Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining our fleet of government vessels. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to apply your trade skills.
- Perform precision metal fitting, cutting, and welding work on various marine equipment and vessel components
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on government vessels, ensuring they meet operational standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings to complete assigned tasks accurately
- Work with different metals and alloys using appropriate welding techniques
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Follow strict safety protocols while working in marine environments, including onboard vessels and at remote bases
Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates with solid technical background and the right attitude for government service. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Must pass the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (arrangements can be made during recruitment)
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship in Fitting, Fitting and Turning, Fitting and Welding, or Cutting and Welding, OR at least four years of direct experience in these trades
- Primary 6 education or equivalent qualification
- Proficiency in Chinese and English languages at Primary 6 level
- Ability to pass a practical trade test that demonstrates your skills
- Willingness to work emergency shifts, in remote areas, and sometimes in challenging weather conditions
