About the Opportunity
As a Cleaning Manager, you’ll be the backbone of our operations making sure every facility is cleaned correctly and according to client standards. You’ll carry out regular inspections, allocate tasks to your team, and follow up to ensure work meets expectations. You’ll also be the point of contact for client concerns, investigating and correcting any issues to demonstrate our commitment to excellence. From interviewing and training new staff to scheduling shifts and maintaining equipment, your role is varied and essential. Key Responsibilities
Team Management:
- Manage a cleaning team assigned to buildings, hospitals, sites, or other facilities.
- Allocate chores and work assignments to staff, ensuring tasks are distributed fairly.
- Supervise, guide, and discipline cleaning service staff as needed to maintain performance standards.
- Conduct interviews and make selection decisions when hiring new team members.
- Train new staff and provide ongoing guidance to ensure quality work.
- Direct and schedule staff, adjusting assignments based on operational needs.
- Set up meetings and communicate relevant information to the team.
Quality Control and Inspections:
- Carry out regular inspections of facilities to determine any unusual or recurring work that needs to be done (e.g., stripping floor wax, cleaning overhead light fixtures, shampooing carpets).
- Maintain a checklist of everyday cleaning tasks and ensure they are completed.
- Conduct pre-event inspections of all assigned areas before official opening to verify cleanliness.
- Inspect work after completion to ensure it meets established standards.
Client and Customer Relations:
- Listen to client complaints, investigate issues, and correct any anomalies promptly.
- Reassure clients of the company’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the facility is cleaned correctly and according to client instructions or standards.
Operations and Maintenance:
- Make arrangements for the repair of faulty equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning tools and supplies are properly maintained and stocked.
- Coordinate with other departments or vendors as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience managing a cleaning team in a facility such as an office building, hospital, hotel, manufacturing firm, or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to conduct inspections and hold team members accountable.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, staff, and management.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complaints professionally.
- Physically capable of performing inspections and demonstrating cleaning tasks when needed.
Preferred:
