Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs on building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical devices, mechanical components, and hydraulic systems.
- Assist with installation, modification, and upgrade of building equipment and systems as assigned.
- Evaluate maintenance operations and make recommendations for system improvements, energy savings, and operational efficiencies.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests with professionalism and a sense of urgency.
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarm panels, fire pumps, sprinkler systems, and related protection equipment.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governing agency requirements, and company directives related to building operations.
- Practice safe work habits at all times and adhere to established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Use smart phones, tablets, web-based applications, and building automation systems for work orders, documentation, and system monitoring.
- Maintain a neat, clean appearance and comply with the uniform dress code while on site.
- Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and hydraulic devices.
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and related fire protection equipment is required.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems systematically and efficiently.
- Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Comfortable using smart phones, tablets, and web-based applications for work order management and building automation system interaction.
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
