Key Responsibilities

Sample Delivery and Collection:

Deliver and collect samples for Element’s key customers across the Cleveland region accurately, punctually, and with the careful physical handling that laboratory samples and testing materials require to maintain their integrity and chain of custody from the point of collection through to delivery at the Element facility or designated vendor location
Transport calibration samples to external vendors and calibration service providers on the correct schedule and with the documentation accuracy required to maintain the traceability and compliance standards applicable to calibration activities within a certified testing and inspection laboratory environment
Handle all samples, testing materials, and calibration items during transport with the attention to detail and care for material integrity that Element’s laboratory quality standards and customer assurance commitments require from every person involved in the sample handling and logistics chain
Coordinate with the laboratory and transportation department team regarding daily delivery and collection schedules, customer location details, vendor contact information, and any special handling requirements for specific sample or calibration shipments throughout the working day

Vehicle Maintenance and Log Management:

Ensure the assigned Element vehicle is maintained in safe, clean, and fully operational condition throughout the employment period, performing regular basic safety and condition checks before and during each working day and reporting any mechanical concerns, damage, or maintenance requirements to the transportation department supervisor promptly for timely professional assessment and repair
Maintain accurate and complete logs and documentation related to the vehicle and its maintenance throughout the employment period, recording all mileage, maintenance activities, inspection results, fuel additions, and any other vehicle-related information required by Element’s transportation department record-keeping standards and applicable Ohio commercial vehicle documentation requirements
Keep the vehicle clean and professionally presented inside and outside throughout the employment period, maintaining the standard of vehicle presentation that reflects Element’s global brand values and creates a professional impression during all customer facility and vendor site visits throughout the daily delivery and collection route

General Transportation Department Support:

Support the broader transportation department operations at the Element Cleveland facility as directed by the department supervisor, contributing the flexible and cooperative team approach to logistics support that a busy laboratory transportation function requires from every driver on the team
Communicate clearly and professionally with the transportation department team, laboratory staff, customers, and vendors throughout the working day regarding schedule progress, delivery and collection status, vehicle condition observations, and any operational issues or changes that arise during the daily route execution
Work effectively under pressure within the transportation team environment, maintaining consistent delivery quality, documentation accuracy, and professional conduct across high-volume or time-sensitive periods of the laboratory’s sample collection and testing schedule throughout the employment period

Qualifications
