Key Responsibilities

In this vital role, you will be on the front lines of our operations. Your core duties will include:

Safely operating our hydrovac excavation trucks and units (for Operators), with the role involving approximately 80% on-site labouring and 20% truck driving.
Performing non-destructive digging to precisely locate and expose underground services, adhering to strict safety protocols at all times.
Completing all necessary job paperwork accurately, including JSEAs, pre-start checks, work dockets, and timesheets.
Conducting routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, cleaning, and pre-start inspections to ensure operational readiness.
Providing excellent on-site customer service, assisting clients, and clearly communicating job progress.
Working flexibly as part of a team, supporting colleagues, solving problems, and occasionally working outside Canberra or on rostered night/weekend on-call duties.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who are safety-focused and physically prepared. You must have:

For Operators:

A current MR or HR Truck licence.
A White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Current Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention certifications.
A willingness for hard work and a positive, can-do attitude.

For Labourers:

A White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Current Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention certifications.
A willingness for hard work and a positive, can-do attitude.

For All Applicants:

Excellent physical fitness for demanding manual work.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with proven reliability.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering great customer service.
Initiative and problem-solving skills to handle job-site challenges.
Experience as a vacuum excavator operator is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
