 Key Responsibilities

As a Labourer, you will be a vital part of a construction crew, contributing to essential infrastructure projects. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the installation and maintenance of sewer, water, and gas pipelines under the guidance of experienced crew leaders.
  • Performing general labouring tasks such as digging, trenching, shoveling, and handling materials on site.
  • Supporting pipelayers and plant operators to ensure the smooth and efficient progress of works, from small maintenance to large subdivision projects.
  • Strictly adhering to all site safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following Safe Work Method Statements.
  • Helping to maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free worksite.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, there are several essential items you must have. Applicants must possess:

  • A current Construction Industry White Card or Red Card.
  • A current driver’s licence and own reliable transport to get to sites across the south-eastern suburbs.
  • Your own full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including long-sleeve high-visibility shirts, pants, and steel-capped safety boots.

While not mandatory, the following tickets and attributes are highly desirable and will strengthen your application:

  • Pipelaying tickets
  • A Certificate III in Civil Construction
  • Tickets for operating an Excavator or Front End Loader
  • A Confined Space Entry ticket
