We are looking for a candidate who resides in or near 70 Mile House to best serve our local customers and respond to on-call needs promptly.
Your Key Responsibilities
In this vital community role, you will handle a variety of tasks that keep our postal services running smoothly:
- Provide friendly, accurate counter service, selling postal products, and assisting customers with their shipping and mailing needs.
- Process, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail accurately into designated classifications.
- Offer clear information, forms, and guidance on Canada Post services, rates, and delivery options.
- Help resolve customer inquiries and address delivery or service concerns efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and handle daily financial transactions with integrity.
- Safely lift and move mail containers (up to 50 lbs) and be prepared for physical tasks including standing for extended periods.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess a combination of education, skills, and attitude:
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalency is required.
- Experience in a customer-facing retail, service, or administrative role, including cash handling.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to help people.
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing.
- Reliability and flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call shifts as required.
- Basic understanding of accounting or point-of-sale systems is an asset.
