Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in urgent care, booked consultations, and administrative areas including phone triage
  • Assess and manage patients’ health needs effectively, including chronic conditions and acute presentations
  • Administer vaccines, perform cervical smears, and carry out other clinical procedures as required
  • Support patient flow and manage consultations in accordance with best practice and clinic protocols
  • Participate in weekend and weekday rosters as scheduled, including one in six weekends
  • Collaborate with the wider clinical team to deliver seamless, patient-centered care
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and follow electronic systems, ideally Medtech Evolution
  • Uphold professional standards in accordance with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and practice policies

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate and ideally have a minimum of three years postgraduate clinical experience. Prior general practice nursing experience is preferred. Evidence of relevant professional development in specialist clinical skills is desirable. Applicants should be willing to undertake further training such as independent vaccinator or cervical smear certification if not already qualified. A clean Police check is required under the Vulnerable Children’s Act.
