We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Machine Operator to join our Day Shift team at our Wigram facility. This is a permanent, full-time role within an iconic New Zealand manufacturer with over a century of history. Operating from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, you will be integral to producing high-quality rubber compounds using specialised equipment. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Primary Process Manager, you will be a key operator in our rubber manufacturing process. Your core duties will include:
- Safely and efficiently operating rubber manufacturing equipment, including mills and Banbury mixers, to produce precise rubber compounds.
- Following standard operating procedures and product specifications meticulously to ensure the highest quality output.
- Taking responsibility for the quality of your own work, conducting checks, and reporting any variances.
- Strictly adhering to and actively promoting all workplace health and safety regulations.
- Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department and collaborating effectively with your team.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient work area.
Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable and skilled professional with the following attributes:
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience with rubber, polymer, or similar processing equipment is highly advantageous.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- A high degree of personal responsibility for quality, safety, and following procedures.
- The ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, and initiative within a structured health and safety system.
- A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and workplace safety.
- Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
