Key Responsibilities

Tender Truck Operation and Route Execution:

Operate all assigned tender trucks and associated vehicles including single axle, tandem axle, and forklift equipment safely and competently in full accordance with Heritage FS established safety standards, proper vehicle operation techniques, and all applicable federal and Illinois DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operation throughout the seasonal employment period
Execute all assigned deliveries and pickups to company locations, customer sites, and terminal destinations in strict accordance with established time schedules, maintaining the punctual, professional, and customer-focused delivery performance that Heritage FS’s reputation for superior agricultural and energy product service across their eleven-county Illinois territory depends on
Operate tender trucks for the transportation of dry and liquid agricultural inputs including fertilizer and other agronomy products, pulling and hooking up hoses and tendering dry and liquid machines as required throughout the seasonal delivery and pickup schedule across all assigned routes and customer locations

Pre-Trip Inspection and Preventative Maintenance:

Perform and accurately record daily pre-trip safety checks on all assigned vehicles and associated equipment before departing on any route, including checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires for condition and pressure, verifying lights and brake function, and completing all other inspection items required by Heritage FS’s preventative maintenance program and applicable DOT pre-trip inspection regulations
Follow Heritage FS’s preventative maintenance program consistently throughout the seasonal employment period, ensuring all assigned vehicles receive the correct scheduled maintenance attention and that any mechanical concerns, equipment faults, or vehicle deficiencies identified during pre-trip or on-route inspection are reported to the appropriate maintenance personnel promptly for timely assessment and repair

DOT Compliance and Documentation:

Qualifications

A valid and currently maintained Class B CDL license is a firm requirement for this position along with any other applicable certifications, licenses, or permits required for tender truck operation in Illinois
