We are seeking an experienced Facility Technician to take on a pivotal role within our Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team for the APAC region. Based in Hong Kong, you will be the hands-on expert responsible for the optimal performance of MEP and HVAC systems across our properties. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who excels in maintenance oversight, contractor management, and implementing sustainable facility solutions within a dynamic, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will be the technical lead for facility operations, ensuring reliability, compliance, and efficiency. Your key duties will include:

  • Directly supervising the inspection, maintenance, and repair of critical MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and HVAC systems to achieve optimal operating performance and energy efficiency.
  • Managing contractors, suppliers, and vendors for janitorial services, repair & maintenance activities, and small-to-medium projects, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and budgetary standards.
  • Developing and executing preventive maintenance schedules, maintaining accurate facility service records, databases, and necessary documentation for reporting.
  • Ensuring 100% compliance with all local government regulations, environmental standards, and company health & safety policies across all facility operations and projects.
  • Providing technical solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and initiating improvements to prevent recurring problems related to building systems and equipment.
  • Reading and working from blueprints, circuit diagrams, and schematics, with skilled use of diagnostic tools (multimeters, amp meters, etc.) for equipment evaluation.
  • Planning technician rosters, managing the work order system, and ensuring clear, effective communication between users, team members, and external partners for timely work completion.
  • Supporting capital improvement and alteration projects, including scope definition, planning, and implementation with minimal operational disruption.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A tertiary education or above in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or Facilities Management.
  • A minimum of 10 years of solid, hands-on experience in facility management, building services maintenance, or construction, gained from an owner, contractor, or consultancy background.
  • A valid Grade ‘A’ Electrical Worker license.
  • Strong practical skills, including the ability to perform preventive/predictive maintenance, basic welding, and operate electrical measurement devices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) for reporting and planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving, complaint-handling, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • A willingness to travel to different facilities, work on a shift schedule if required, and guide or train junior team members.
