Key Responsibilities
In this diverse role, you will be integral to our daily operations, with key duties including:
- Safely operating Council trucks (HC class) for various transportation and project support tasks.
- Performing general labouring duties to assist with construction, maintenance, and repair works.
- Potentially operating other road-making plant and equipment as required.
- Working collaboratively within a team to complete scheduled works and respond to maintenance priorities.
- Undertaking traffic control duties (if qualified) to ensure worksite safety for workers and the public.
- Adhering to all Council policies, safety procedures, and quality standards at all times.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A current Queensland Class ‘HC’ Driver’s Licence.
- A Queensland Construction White Card (or Blue Card – General Safety Induction).
Candidates who also have the following will be highly regarded:
- Proven experience operating heavy vehicles in a construction or maintenance environment.
- Experience operating other road-making plant.
- Traffic Controller Competence and Implement Traffic Management Plans (ITMP) qualifications.
- A strong team-oriented approach and an unwavering commitment to workplace safety.
