Key Responsibilities

This is a comprehensive driving role where you will be responsible for the full journey of the cargo. Your key duties will include:

• Operating a tractor-trailer to transport goods over long distances, planning and adjusting routes using GPS and computer systems to maximize efficiency.
• Conducting meticulous pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and refrigeration units.
• Ensuring the safety and security of all cargo, which includes proper tarping and the correct handling of dangerous goods when required.
• Loading and unloading goods and performing basic preventive maintenance and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
• Accurately completing all necessary documentation, including driver logbooks, cargo information, and fuel reports.
• Communicating professionally with central dispatch and addressing any customer concerns with a high standard of customer service.
• Driving as part of a team or convoy when necessary and adhering to all hours-of-service regulations.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the right attitude and foundational readiness. The requirements for this role are:

• A Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate.
• A willingness to be trained; no prior professional driving experience is required, as we will provide comprehensive instruction.
• The ability to obtain a basic security clearance.
• Excellent personal suitability traits, including reliability, strong judgment, patience, and the ability to work well in a team.
• The physical capability to handle a demanding workload, including sitting for long periods, handling heavy loads, and performing repetitive tasks with great attention to detail.
• A valid Class 1-AZ driver’s licence is a fundamental requirement for operating the tractor-trailer equipment.
