Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for high-stakes welding operations central to project integrity. Your core duties will include:
- Performing high-quality welding on storage tanks, pressure vessels, and related industrial structures using both SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (TIG) processes according to project specifications.
- Skillfully operating manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
- Interpreting welding procedure specifications (WPS), engineering drawings, and familiarizing yourself with applicable welding codes (e.g., ASME, API) for all tasks.
- Selecting appropriate welding electrodes, filler materials, and equipment settings based on material types and job requirements.
- Conducting all work with a strong focus on safety protocols, maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace, and using all personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Performing self-inspection of welds and assisting in quality control checks to ensure all work passes visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) standards.
Qualifications
This position requires verifiable experience and specific documentation. Qualified candidates must have:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional welding experience, with a strong focus on tank and pressure vessel welding.
- At least 3 years of documented overseas work experience and 2 years of local experience in the Philippines or elsewhere.
- A Vocational Diploma, TESDA National Certificate (NC II-III), or a relevant Short Course Certificate in Welding.
- A valid and verifiable Welder Qualification Test (WQT) certificate from an accredited testing center as primary proof of skill and performance.
- Additional Trade Skill Certificates related to SMAW, GTAW, or other welding disciplines.
- A complete and active documentary portfolio, including:
- Voter’s ID
- PSA Birth Certificate
- UMID or National ID
- Proof of SSS Contributions
- Physical fitness for demanding work in various environmental conditions and a strong, safety-first mindset.
