Are you driven by a deep passion to guide, protect, and empower at-risk young people? The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) is looking for dedicated male professionals to join our Singapore Boys’ Homes as Youth Guidance Officers. This is not just a job; it is a profound opportunity to serve as a positive role model and a catalyst for change in the lives of male youths. If you possess resilience, empathy, and a steadfast commitment to rehabilitation, we invite you to be part of a life-changing team within the Youth Residential Service.
Company Overview
The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) is the heartware architect for Singapore, dedicated to nurturing resilient individuals, strong families, and a caring society. Our mission goes beyond policy—it’s about making a tangible difference in shaping lives and futures. As part of the Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG), the Youth Residential Service (YRS) operates at the frontline of this mission, focusing on the secure care, rehabilitation, and reintegration of youths. We are a family of professionals united by a shared passion for people and a commitment to social impact.
Key Responsibilities
As a Youth Guidance Officer, you will be entrusted with the holistic care and development of youths in a secure residential setting. Your key duties will include:

- Planning, implementing, and reviewing structured programmes, activities, and security protocols to ensure a safe, rehabilitative environment.
- Managing youth discipline with a balanced, firm, and caring approach. Maintaining constant situational awareness, conducting risk assessments, and responding appropriately to volatile situations to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
- Ensuring the holistic well-being of youths and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals (e.g., social workers, psychologists) to achieve tailored rehabilitative outcomes.
- Working effectively in a fast-paced, shift-based environment, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to the professional growth of the Homes and the Ministry.
Qualifications
We are seeking male candidates with a unique blend of professional competency and personal fortitude. The requirements are:
- Mandatory Criteria: This role is open only to male candidates due to the nature of close supervision and care required for male residents. Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts.

- Core Competencies: Must be youth-savvy with a genuine passion for this work. Requires excellent physical stamina (able to run and climb stairs), high emotional resilience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to command respect while remaining calm and firm.
- Personal Attributes: High emotional stability, adaptability, effective communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to the rehabilitation and protection of youths.
